Preview: Oxford Prep Griffins vs. Henderson Collegiate Pride
Oxford Prep and Henderson Collegiate are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Oxford Prep Griffins will be playing at home against the Henderson Collegiate Pride at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Oxford Prep and 11 for Henderson Collegiate dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Oxford Prep came up short against Eno River and fell 49-39.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-7, which was the final score in Henderson Collegiate's tilt against Vance Charter on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Henderson Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while Vance Charter is ranked 197th).
Oxford Prep has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Henderson Collegiate, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Oxford Prep against Henderson Collegiate in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 68-12 win. Does Oxford Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Henderson Collegiate turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
