Softball Recap: First Flight Nighthawks vs. Columbia Wildcats
First Flight never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Columbia on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 22-1 margin over the Columbia Wildcats. That 21 run margin sets a new team best for the Nighthawks this season.
Avery Winslow was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Winslow was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Molly Richards was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kendall Schnader, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
