Basketball Game Preview: Manteno Panthers vs. Peotone Blue Devils

Manteno is 1-9 against Peotone since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Manteno Panthers will face off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m.

Last Monday, Manteno didn't have quite enough to beat Coal City and fell 40-38. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Peotone earned a 45-32 win over Herscher on Monday.

Manteno better keep an eye on Peyton Bisping. She was instrumental in Peotone's win, going 6 of 11 on her way to 18 points and four steals. Those 18 points gave Bisping a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Brandau, who posted 13 points.

Manteno's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-1. As for Peotone, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-15 record this season.

Manteno strolled past Peotone in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manteno since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
