Volleyball Recap: Geneva Has No Trouble Against Opp

Geneva's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Opp Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

The win didn't come easy: Opp scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Crislyn Birge, who had 25 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Kate Thrash, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Geneva has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Opp, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will take on Northside Methodist Academy in a tournament on Thursday. As for Opp, they will be taking part in a tournament against Brantley at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
