Calhoun County had won two straight home games and Cassidy Pough did her part to make it three on Friday. The Calhoun County Saints took their match with ease, bagging a 65-26 win over the Wagener-Salley War Eagles thanks in part to Pough, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. She also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Calhoun County is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 3-7 otherwise.

Jamaryia McMichael was another key player, putting up three points along with eight boards and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Calhoun County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 8.75 assists in those games compared to only 8.75 in the others. As for Wagener-Salley, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Calhoun County will face off against Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Williston-Elko will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Calhoun County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wagener-Salley, they will challenge North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
