Baseball Game Preview: Marquez Gladiators vs. Lincoln Tigers

The Marquez Gladiators will square off against the Lincoln Tigers at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Marquez will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Monday, Marquez had just enough and edged out Eagle Rock 5-4.

Ernesto Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jason Gutierrez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Torres, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 4, 2024.

Marquez's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
