Preview: Longmeadow Lancers vs. Holyoke Purple Knights
Longmeadow is 8-2 against Holyoke since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Longmeadow Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Holyoke Purple Knights at 7:00 p.m. Holyoke took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Longmeadow, who comes in off a win.
Longmeadow had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Leominster with a 58-52 win on January 3rd.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-34, which was the final score in Holyoke's tilt against Central on Wednesday. Holyoke was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.
Longmeadow's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Holyoke, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Longmeadow was able to grind out a solid victory over Holyoke when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 64-56. Does Longmeadow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Holyoke turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
