Basketball Recap: Somerset College Prep Academy Victorious

Somerset College Prep Academy won the last time they faced Oxbridge Academy, and Khloe Rodgers did her part to make sure it happened again. The Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans snuck past the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves with a 52-48 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Rodgers, who went 9 for 21 en route to 28 points along with seven boards and six assists. Rodgers is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Oxbridge Academy still got an impressive performance from Leilani Benzing, who posted 27 points and seven rebounds. Those 27 points gave Benzing a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Imani Von Wulffen, who put up four points and 12 boards.

The win got Somerset College Prep Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Oxbridge Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset College Prep Academy will face off against Jensen Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oxbridge Academy, they will square off against Royal Palm Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
