Softball Recap: Palmyra-Macedon Takes a Loss

Palmyra-Macedon suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Storm by a score of 4-2. The game marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Palmyra-Macedon got a good showing from Seager Emerick, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Emerick a new career-low.

At the plate, Palmyra-Macedon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briana VanHaneghan, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Palmyra-Macedon and nudges their season record down to 10-5. As for Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Palmyra-Macedon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-7 victory against Midlakes on the 13th. Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
