Baseball Recap: Channel Islands Takes a Loss

Channel Islands lost against Hueneme last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Robert Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Jacob Sanchez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Channel Islands now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Hueneme, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Channel Islands will head out to challenge Nordhoff at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hueneme, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Clara at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Saints are coming into the match with five straight defeats at home, meaning the Vikings will have to defend against a squad out to give their home crowd a much needed win.
