Baseball Game Preview: St. Charles Bulldogs vs. Montabella Mustangs

The St. Charles Bulldogs will square off against the Montabella Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Charles comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

St. Charles lost 15-4 to Michigan Lutheran Seminary on Wednesday.

St. Charles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenden Servantes, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Servantes has scored this season. Jacob Sutton was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Montabella came up short against Fulton on Monday, falling 16-6. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost nine in a row.

Noah Carlson and Mason Bogart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carlson got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Bogart went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Montabella's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for St. Charles, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

St. Charles came out on top in a nail-biter against Montabella in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
