Softball Recap: Caldera Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Caldera had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 15-14 W against the Summit Storm. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-4 victory last Tuesday.

Annabelle Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danika Hollibaugh, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Caldera kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

The win got Caldera back to even at 12-12. As for Summit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17-1 record this season.

Caldera wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-3 victory against South Eugene on the 21st. Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
