Basketball Recap: Orange Glen Comes Up Short

Orange Glen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Rock Academy Warriors, falling 73-47. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Rock Academy had a senior duo take command as Roland Balderramos went 9 for 12 en route to 25 points and James Whitley dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Balderramos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephon Howell, who posted ten points.

Orange Glen's record is now 0-23. As for Rock Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at 22 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-20 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange Glen will challenge San Diego Jewish Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Diego Jewish Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 175 points over their last three games. As for Rock Academy, they will square off against Vincent Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th.
