Volleyball Recap: St. Anne's-Belfield Comes Up Short

St. Anne's-Belfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the New Covenant Gryphons.

St. Anne's-Belfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.

Embry Carlton was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and one assist.

St. Anne's-Belfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for New Covenant, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Looking ahead, St. Anne's-Belfield will challenge Virginia Episcopal School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Covenant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
