Recap: Pecos Eagles vs. Fort Stockton Panthers
The Pecos Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Stockton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pecos in their matchups with Fort Stockton: they've now lost nine in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Stockton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ivanna Ortiz, who scored four points along with six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Thiaraneth Wislar, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Pecos has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Fort Stockton, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Pecos will head out on the road to face off against Monahans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monahans has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Fort Stockton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seminole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seminole has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
