Softball Recap: Hancock Takes a Loss

Hancock blew Houghton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Houghton got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Gremlins by a score of 6-4. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gremlins earlier this season, when they won 15-8.

This is the second loss in a row for Hancock and nudges their season record down to 9-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Houghton, they moved to 8-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Hancock will face off against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Houghton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 defeat against Lake Linden-Hubbell on the 17th.
