Basketball Recap: Calhoun Falls Despite Big Games from Baron Davis and Brennen Carpenter

Calhoun lost against Doddridge County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Calhoun Red Devils lost 63-41 to the Doddridge County Bulldogs. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Calhoun's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brennen Carpenter, who posted 18 points and five assists, and Baron Davis, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Carpenter a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (57%).

Calhoun's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Doddridge County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clay County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doddridge County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Tygarts Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
