Basketball Game Preview: Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans vs. Nederland Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans will get right back to it and host the Nederland Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Aurora West College Prep Academy ended up a good deal behind Two Roads Charter School and lost 58-44. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Nederland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 50-25 to STEM School Highlands Ranch. The Panthers were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Aurora West College Prep Academy will have to keep a close watch on Cedar Shupe and Mason Ivey, a pair of players who had a big impact on Nederland's prior game. Shupe posted eight points and nine rebounds, while Ivey had 11 points. The dominant performance gave Shupe a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Indio Koonz, who put up two points and eight boards.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Nederland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
