Softball Recap: Cleburne County Comes Up Short

Cleburne County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Jacksonville Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cleburne County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lola Shelton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Cleburne County's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Jacksonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Cleburne County will take on Cherokee County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jacksonville, they will challenge Wellborn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
