Volleyball Recap: Hialeah-Miami Lakes Takes a Loss

Hialeah-Miami Lakes lost against Hialeah Educational Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Biggie.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-18, 25-9.

Hialeah Educational Academy can attribute much of their success to Emily Ortega, who had 12 assists and three aces. Ortega has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. Anyelyne Montero also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Hialeah-Miami Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hialeah-Miami Lakes will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on International Studies at 3:30 p.m. on October 1. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, they will face off against Mater Brickell Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
