Volleyball Recap: Laton Comes Up Short

Laton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 18-25, 25-10.

When it comes to explaining why Laton lost, don't look at Jade Perez. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs and three aces. Perez has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Genesis Ortez had another great game (as she tends to do), getting 30 digs for Wonderful College Prep Academy.

Laton's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Laton will square off against rival Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wonderful College Prep Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Riverdale Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
