Football Game Preview: Huntland Hornets vs. Eagleville Eagles + How To Watch

Huntland hasn't had much luck against Eagleville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out.

Huntland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points back in September, they were much more limited against Fayetteville two weeks ago. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 41-7. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Huntland had strong showings from Alfonso Cabera, who rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and Bryant Mooney, who rushed for 89 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eagleville, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They breezed past Moore County to the tune of 34-7 last Friday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Eagleville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Huntland, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

Huntland was dealt a bruising 44-14 defeat at the hands of Eagleville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
