Basketball Recap: Las Lomas Knights vs. Concord Bears

Make it nine blowout wins for the Las Lomas Knights this season. They blew past Concord, posting a 83-46 victory on the road. Given Las Lomas' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Bears are ranked 1005th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Will Jones was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 27 points. It was the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Xayne Mojadiddi, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

Las Lomas has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Concord, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Las Lomas will take on the Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Acalanes is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Concord, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Mt. Diablo has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 11.
