Washington-Liberty's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Fairfax Lions by a score of 8-3. This was payback for the Generals, who suffered a 10-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Zoe Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those five hits allowed gave her a new career-low.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lilly Nix, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Celia Anbinder, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

Washington-Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Fairfax, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Washington-Liberty will take on George C. Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. George C. Marshall has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something Washington-Liberty will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fairfax, they will welcome Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
