Pell City had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Vestavia Hills Rebels. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 5-0 victory the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

Pell City got a great performance from Savannah McGaha as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What's more, McGaha also gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
