Will Van Pamelen drilled what ended up being the game-winning 25-yard field goal. Those three points ended up being the difference once the Hornets missed a field goal on their subsequent possession.
The No. 4 Rams claimed their first state title since 2011 and also avenged last year's heartbreaking semifinal loss to Roswell with the win.

Jaquavius Lane took over in fourth quarter. The junior tallied a 35-yard touchdown reception with 1:04 left in the game and a clutch 2-point conversion. He totaled four receptions for 115 receiving yards and two pivotal touchdowns - both coming in the final quarter.

Grayson gutted out a win for the 7A state title, and celebrated on the Georgia Dome field.
