Baseball Recap: Reavis Has No Trouble Against Blue Island Eisenhower

Reavis barely beat Blue Island Eisenhower the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams blew past the Cardinals 14-3 on Tuesday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Jose Rodriguez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Tino Villagomez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Reavis is undefeated when Villagomez posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Jonathan Liesen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Reavis and bumps their season record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Reavis will welcome Oak Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, they will head out on the road to challenge Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
