Payton Acey leads a balanced attack to beat Bell County

Recap: Southwestern Warriors vs. Bell County Bobcats

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Southwestern Warriors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Bell County 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Southwestern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Acey, who scored 14 points along with four steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Kinsley Molden, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.

Southwestern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Bell County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rockcastle County at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. Rockcastle County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 contests -- so hopefully Southwestern likes a good challenge.
