Baseball Recap: Old Forge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Holy Cross

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Old Forge). They never let the Holy Cross Crusaders get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. With that victory, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jake Bartnikowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Bartnikowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Frank Pero was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. TJ DiMattia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Old Forge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

The win got Old Forge back to even at 3-3. As for Holy Cross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
