Softball Recap: Landstown Victorious

Landstown's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Tallwood Lions by a score of 8-3. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Hailey Akers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Stumler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aleigh Earp, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Landstown's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Tallwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Landstown is taking a road trip to challenge Manor at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tallwood, they will host Ocean Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
