Basketball Recap: Yarbrough/Felt Falls to Balko/Forgan in First Game of Season

Yarbrough/Felt had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 62-24 defeat at the hands of Balko/Forgan. Yarbrough/Felt was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Balko/Forgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Halle Littau, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Littau has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brya Appelhans, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points and seven steals.

Balko/Forgan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yarbrough/Felt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rolla at 6:30 p.m. on January 24, 2025. Balko/Forgan also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Buffalo at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
