The Knox Redskins will square off against the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Knox got the win against North Judson-San Pierre by a conclusive 17-1. The victory continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won four in a row.
Cheryl Barnes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karleigh Friedrich, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Sponaugle, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4.
Knox kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plymouth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Culver Community on Monday.
Gracie Patrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Lilly Runyan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Elizabeth Derifield was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Knox's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Plymouth, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Everything went Knox's way against Plymouth in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Knox made off with a 9-0 victory. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pilgrims/Rockies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
