Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Cougars vs. Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs

The Coronado Cougars will head out to take on the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coronado has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Coronado came up short against Palmer Ridge on Wednesday, falling 18-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coronado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Ratican, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Xavier Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Pueblo Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 20-8 to La Junta.

Robert Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Chaz Brooks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Pueblo Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Coronado couldn't quite get it done against Pueblo Centennial in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 as they fell 11-6. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
