Douglas County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over the North Gwinnett Bulldogs on Saturday.

Rah'Keith Kelly had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. Douglas County also got a significant boost from Zamarcus Lindley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

Douglas County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-0 victory against Jonesboro on the 22nd. After each having a week off, North Gwinnett and Colquitt County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
