Volleyball Recap: Providence Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Providence Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bremen Braves on Monday. The Celtics have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.

Providence Catholic easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-16.

Andrew Lubinski paced Providence Catholic's offense, picking up nine kills. Lubinski got some help from Nicholas Krabbe (Nico) and his 22 assists. Lubinski also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Eli O'Neill, racking up three apiece.

Providence Catholic's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Bremen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Joliet West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremen, they will challenge Tinley Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
