Recap: Far Northeast W Warriors vs. Manual Thunderbolts
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Thomas Jefferson, the Far Northeast W Warriors were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Manual and snuck past 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Far Northeast W has posted yet this season.
Far Northeast W found their leader in underclassman Yaretzi Barraza, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Barraza is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jada Spiller was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Several Thunderbolts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dayjah Fox, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Collins-Falcon, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Far Northeast W's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Manual, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Far Northeast W will be playing in front of their home fans against Denver North at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 240 points over their last three matches. Manual's road trip will continue as they head out to face DSST: Cedar at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. DSST: Cedar will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
