Baseball Game Preview: Gleason Bulldogs vs. Fulton County Pilots

The Gleason Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Fulton County Pilots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gleason's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Gleason came up short against Union City and fell 7-2.

Ty Keeling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Brody Sanders was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Aiden Legens was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fulton County fell victim to Hickman County and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Fulton County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Gleason, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12-1.

Everything went Gleason's way against Fulton County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Gleason made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
