Football Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal lost against Concord back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jets were outmatched by the Bears and fell 42-14. The Jets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Juan Gonzalez produced another solid effort throwing for 202 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground for Concord. The Bears' leading receiver Erik Madayag was Gonzalez's top target yet again, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Concord, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Encinal will challenge San Lorenzo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Jets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Concord, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Diablo at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The contest will also give the Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season.
