Baseball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-6 to the Cortez Colts. If the Dons were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Colts when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Naem Pacheco was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Diego Torres was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Cortez, they moved to 2-7-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coronado beat Cortez by a score of 12-11 on Thursday.
