The Ledyard Colonels will head out to challenge the Wheeler Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Ledyard turned things around against Putnam on Monday. They came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 6-1.
Cameron Weber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Ethan Spinner looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Luther, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Owen Williams was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Wheeler made easy work of Grasso Tech on Monday and carried off a 14-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Perkins was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was James Main, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Wheeler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Wheeler has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Ledyard, their record now sits at 7-12.
Ledyard skirted past Wheeler 6-5 in their previous meeting last Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
