Softball Recap: Sierra Timberwolves vs. East Union Lancers
Sierra extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the East Union Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-1 on April 2nd.
As for East Union, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-12. Considering they have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For East Union's part, Mikayla Simpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Simpson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Caliyah Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jacey Jauregui was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Union, they have already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Oakdale on the 1st.
