The Avon Park Red Devils will head out to take on the DeSoto County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Avon Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Avon Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-35 victory over Lake Placid. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Tytianna Allen was her usual excellent self, putting up 39 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaymara Jackson, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, DeSoto County posted their biggest victory since December 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 60-29 win over Hardee. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Avon Park better keep an eye on Yahri Tyler. She was instrumental in DeSoto County's win, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Janeris Bing, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points in addition to five steals and three blocks.
DeSoto County was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hardee only posted seven assists.
DeSoto County's record now sits at 12-3. As for Avon Park, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Avon Park has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 40 boards per game. However, it's not like DeSoto County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Avon Park was dealt a bruising 89-3 loss at the hands of DeSoto County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Avon Park was down 51-1.
