Volleyball Recap: Bourne Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bourne hadn't done well against Old Rochester Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Canalmen walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs. The victory was nothing new for the Canalmen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Bourne got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 31-29, 14-25, 26-24.

Bourne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Morrill, who had 15 digs and one assist. Morrill is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Bourne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They served one more ace than Old Rochester Regional's also-impressive total of 12.

Bourne's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Old Rochester Regional, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bourne will challenge rival Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Old Rochester Regional is set to square off against their familiar foe Fairhaven at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
