Baseball Recap: First Baptist Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

First Baptist Academy won the last time they faced Golden Gate and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Titans. Considering the Lions have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Johnny Klevanosky was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Klevanosky was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Easton Hicks was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Will Hedlund, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

First Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Gate only posted an OBP of .300.

The victory was the third in a row for First Baptist Academy, bringing their record up to 16-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Golden Gate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.

First Baptist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-8 loss against IMG Academy Blue on the 10th. As for Golden Gate, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against East Lee County on the 14th.
