Basketball Game Preview: Rising Star Wildcats vs. Santa Anna Mountaineers

After both having extra time off, the Rising Star Wildcats and the Santa Anna Mountaineers will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Rising Star has struggled recently with ten losses in a row, while Santa Anna will arrive with five straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Rising Star took on May last Friday. Rising Star was beaten by May 86-6. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1441st, while the Tigers are ranked 704th).

Meanwhile, Santa Anna beat Blanket 55-46 last Friday. That's two games straight that the Mountaineers have won by exactly nine points.

Santa Anna's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Rising Star, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
