Softball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bradley-Bourbonnais, Homewood-Flossmoor was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Providence Catholic Celtics. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Homewood-Flossmoor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Thurman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Thurman has posted since back in April.

Homewood-Flossmoor's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Providence Catholic, they moved to 18-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Homewood-Flossmoor will head out to face off against Lincoln-Way East at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Griffins' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Providence Catholic, they will host Andrew at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
