Football Recap: Beaufort Comes Up Short

Beaufort extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 17-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Philip Simmons Iron Horses. While the Eagles had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Iron Horses 6-0.

Philip Simmons' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. They haven't had any issues with Beaufort recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hayes Goddard was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 79 yards and one score. Those 79 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Beaufort didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-27 win against Goose Creek on the 12th. As for Philip Simmons, they have also already played their next game, a 71-0 victory against Military Magnet Academy on the 12th.
