Football Game Preview: Memorial Mustangs vs. Cypress Creek Cougars + How To Watch

The Memorial Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Cypress Creek Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cypress Creek will be up against a hot Memorial squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Mustangs came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 37-31 W against Cy-Fair.

Kade Gulledge produced another solid effort rushing for 164 yards and three scores. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Grant Sperandio was another key player, throwing for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Cypress Creek, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They really took it to Cypress Ridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 47-13 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 20-point advantage.

Cypress Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything went Memorial's way against Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Memorial made off with a 30-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
