Volleyball Recap: Gorham Has No Trouble Against Sanford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Scarborough, Gorham was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Sanford Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Gorham never let Sanford on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-22.

Ava Devinney paced Gorham's offense, picking up seven kills. Devinney got some help from Liana Edwards and her 12 assists. Edwards was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got Gorham back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gorham will take on rival Windham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sanford is set to face off against their familiar foe Massabesic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
