Basketball Recap: Reece Wigley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead CHAAMP Homeschool over Avery

CHAAMP HomeSchool has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avery Bulldogs. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 55-37.

CHAAMP HomeSchool lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Reece Wigley, who posted ten points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Joe Hefner, who put up nine points.

CHAAMP HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Avery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

CHAAMP HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Campbell at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. CHAAMP HomeSchool is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Avery, they will square off against Saltillo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
